Becoming a Home Room Parent
If you believe that parents are in a unique position to enrich the school life experience of their children, then you'll want to be a Home Room Parent! Home Room Parents are a bridge or liaison between the class teacher and the parent group for a particular Home Room.
What Do They Do?
The primary role of the Home Room Parent is to communicate or remind their parent group, of planned classroom activities or events at school that their children are involved in. For example, next week could be 'Bring a Plant To School Day', and your Home Room Parent will send out a reminder to his/her parent group about this planned activity. This simple reminder is a valuable resource for the teacher and many times, a life saver for busy parents!

Another Function of ParentsActive@WNS
The Home Room Parent role is another ParentsActive@WNS initiative. We firmly believe (and research has proven) that parental involvement spurns student success! The Home Room Parent role helps to enrich and nurture greater parental engagement in the school life experience of our children at WNS. Thank you for volunteering and supporting our Home Room Parent initiative.
